(Atlantic, IA) — The Atlantic Boys Track and Field are back in action tonight as they head to Red Oak. The 4×100 relay team will be looking to improve on their time of 44.88 seconds which ranks 70th in the state and the top 96 get the Drake Relays. Times in this event have consistently gone down across the state so Head Coach Abby Becker wants her guys to have a fair shot at making it into the field — right now Ashton Rutherford, Zander Killion, Jarrett Hansen and Ethan McNeal are the four running the relay
Audio PlayerIn the throws, Gavin McLaren currently ranks 25th in the shot put, his best throw was in Ogden on Thursday at 51-09. He will have to get will over 53 feet to get to the Drake Relays. Xavier Darrow ranks 49th in the shot put at 49-01. In the discus, Darrow is the team leader at 124-04. Becker says that the two throwers feed off each in other in competition
