(Audubon)—The Audubon County Board of Supervisors continues strengthening its ordinances, policies, and land use review processes. At Tuesday’s regular meeting, the board discussed county land.
Board Chairman Heath Hansen said that in the past, much of this work was handled ad hoc by individuals who did an excellent job, but without a formal schedule or system in place.
He added that the county owns a significant number of land parcels, and the board is working to ensure that these parcels are being used effectively.
The supervisors also held their final budget hearing on Tuesday. Hansen thanked the county’s department heads for their valuable input throughout the budgeting process.
In addition, Hansen highlighted the efforts of County Engineer Mitch Rydl and his team, who have been developing a five-year construction plan. He praised the plan for its long-term benefits, noting that it will save money while improving essential infrastructure.
“This will be a real bonus for the county in the coming years,” Hansen concluded.
