Trojans Girls Soccer Earned First Victory on Thursday; Vargason Likes Improvements

(Atlantic, IA) — The Atlantic Girls Soccer team got their first win of the season on Thursday night, beating Greene County 4-1. Maddie Richter led with two goals; Ayrdrie Coffman and Saige Coffman also scored for the Trojans. Head Coach Dan Vargason says the girls just simply controlled the ball much better from the first game loss to Riverside to Thursday

Atlantic likes to play a physical style — Vargason says that Richter can be physical in how she plays offense. The leader of the defense is Lucy Cohrs who can also mix it up but also has become a leader

Another area that Vargason has seen improvement has been in the goal — keeper Clara Kennedy is only a freshman but Vargason says from game one to game two there has been progress
