(Atlantic, IA) — The Atlantic Girls Soccer team got their first win of the season on Thursday night, beating Greene County 4-1. Maddie Richter led with two goals; Ayrdrie Coffman and Saige Coffman also scored for the Trojans. Head Coach Dan Vargason says the girls just simply controlled the ball much better from the first game loss to Riverside to Thursday
Audio PlayerAtlantic likes to play a physical style — Vargason says that Richter can be physical in how she plays offense. The leader of the defense is Lucy Cohrs who can also mix it up but also has become a leader
Audio PlayerAnother area that Vargason has seen improvement has been in the goal — keeper Clara Kennedy is only a freshman but Vargason says from game one to game two there has been progress
Audio PlayerAtlantic has a busy week coming up with three games starting Monday at Glenwood, Tuesday at Missouri Valley, and Thursday hosting Tri Center. The complete interview with Coach Dan Vargason will be on Atlantic Sports Saturday starting at 9 am on KS 95.
