(South Bend, IN) — It will be a crash course of studying for Iowa St. Women’s Basketball Head Coach Bill Fennelly for a First Four match up against Princeton tonight in the NCAA Tournament, coverage on KSOM.
This is the 23rd time in 29 seasons that Fennelly has taken the Cyclones to the NCAA Tournament — twice he has gone to the NCAA Elite 8, the last was 2010. Iowa St. last went to the Sweet 16 was 4 years ago.
Princeton was the runner up in the Ivy League regular season and lost to three seeded Harvard in the post season tournament. The Tigers have a balanced scoring attack led by Sophomore Guard Skye Belker at 13.1 ppg, Sophomore Guard Ashley Chea at 12.5 ppg, and Sophomore Fadima Tall who is tall at 6 foot and averages 10.3 ppg and 6.3 rbg. Princeton made it to the tournament without their best player Junior Madison St. Rose who only played 4 games because of a knee injury.
