(Des Moines) Blizzard conditions continue in west central, northwest, and north central Iowa this afternoon. High winds and snow are causing low visibility and downed power lines. While this region of the state is expected to bear the brunt of the storm, Andrew Ansorge, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Des Moines, says as the low moves east, the snow will wrap around to the counties to the south and east.
A Blizzard Warning continues until 10:00 p.m. for Pottawattamie, Harrison, Shelby, Audubon, Crawford, Carroll, and Counties to the north.
A High Wind Warning and Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the rest of southwest Iowa until 7:00 p.m. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for this region until 10:00 p.m.
Temperatures will warm up to the upper forties on Thursday, 50s on Friday, and 60s on Saturday.
