(Harlan) Due to the recent heavy snow, and quick melting due to increasing temperatures, Shelby County is now under a “Roadway Embargo” according to a social media post by The Shelby County Emergency Management agency.
The Chairman of the Shelby County Board of Supervisors, and the Shelby County Engineer jointly agreed to place effective load limits on selected “Load Sensitive” road surfaces in the Counties Road System.
The load limit is ten tons immediately on all gravel roads within Shelby County.
The embargo remains in effect until conditions improve, and the embargo is redacted.
