(Audubon, IA) — The Audubon boys basketball had a wild ride on the roller coaster season this year — an 11-12 record is hardly satisfying but it is a three win improvement from the previous year. Head Coach Darran Miller juggled what turned out to be an 11 man rotation but the Wheelers could never get a strong win streak going — win a couple then lose a couple — it was up and down all year long with a lot of close losses
Audubon will lose four seniors — Mason Steckler, Oliver Deist, Aaron Olsen, and Colton Hansen and all were contributors — but with a big rotation, it means a lot of players coming back including leading scorer Junior Brody Schultes who actually came off the bench for Audubon but Miller said it worked well
Besides Schultes, Juniors Austin Christensen, Carson Wessel, Sullivan McClain, Brody Weber and Ryan Hermansen will all be seniors. Freshmen Aiden Kjergaard and Jorgen Nowatzke also saw key minutes for the Wheelers and will fight for more playing time. Miller says he will need all hands on deck because the Western Iowa Conference is returning a lot of talent next year
Miller says he wants his guys to play together as much as possible in the off-season, work on their shooting and develop team chemistry before they tip it off next December.
