(Des Moines) Iowa House District 18 Representative Tom Moore said he was floor manager for SF 278 during debate on Tuesday. SF 278 is a bill regarding robotics as an extracurricular activity.
Moore said this bill includes requiring the department of education to provide technical assistance to school districts related to chartering career and technical student organizations related to robotics. Moreover, high school athletic organizations are now authorized to sponsor interscholastic contests or competitions related to robotics.
The bill will now go to the Governor’s desk for her signature.
