(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors set the date for public hearings to consider vacating and closing two sections of road.
The first public hearing is a joint public hearing with Adair County on Tuesday, March 18 at 9:05 a.m. The portion or roadway they are considering to vacate is on 780th Lane, also known as Union Avenue or Adair-Cass Avenue. Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken…
The second public hearing will follow the first public hearing on Tuesday, March 18th. The portion of roadway they are considering to vacate is on Quebec Lane in Massena Township. Wolken said this is a Level B road.
In other news, the Supervisors approved the Iowa Department of Transportation Federal-Aid Agreement for Surface Transportation Block Grant Project, a cold in place/HMA project on South N-28 from Highway 92 south to the Adams County line. This project will be let in July. The project is in the five-year program.
The Supervisors approved the third amendment to the Ambulance Services Agreement between Cass County, Cass Health, City of Atlantic, and Midwest Medical Transport Company with an annual subsidy fee of $656,302.50 beginning July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027, with a potential shortfall collection amount up to a maximum of $75,000 each year.
And, the Supervisors approved the appointment of Krista Young to the SIRHA Board.
