(Montgomery Co) The Stanton, Red Oak and Elliott Fire Departments were dispatched to 270th Street, between M Avenue and N Avenue, at 11:23 this (Thursday) morning for a grass fire.
Red Oak Fire Chief John Bruce said upon arrival, it was discovered that a trailer hauling hay had a mechanical issue causing a fire. The fire spread throughout the road ditch and into a small gathering of trees.
The fire was quickly extinguished without incident. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
