(Corning) Southwest Valley Schools Superintendent Chris Fenster has submitted his resignation to the Southwest Valley School Board, effective June 30, 2025. He has accepted the position of superintendent at South Hardin.
Fenster expressed that serving as the Superintendent of Southwest Valley School District for the past seven years has been an honor. He is incredibly proud of the progress made during his tenure. He highlighted that the district has achieved numerous successes and faced challenges head-on, always striving for improvement while remaining united in service to the students. The collaboration between the two school districts exemplified the spirit of “One,” and he is grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this journey.
Today, the South Hardin Community School District issued a press release announcing Fenster’s hiring. The district noted that he currently leads efforts to research and adopt a curriculum that aligns K-5 and 6-12 instruction district-wide. Additionally, he has focused on increasing dual credit opportunities, Advanced Placement courses, career and technical education, and apprenticeships. Fenster successfully led two capital bond referendums to enhance facilities to meet 21st-century learning needs while also increasing operational sharing positions to support system infrastructure and boost the budget.
The Eldora-New Providence (E-NP) and Hubbard-Radcliffe (H-R) Community School District Boards of Directors, which partner as South Hardin Schools, stated Mr. Fenster’s contract will commence on July 1, 2025.
