(Des Moines, IA) — It appears cycling in Iowa is a bigger economic driver than originally thought. A new study done by the Iowa Bicycle Coalition found the activity has generated more than one-point-four-billion dollars for the Hawkeye State’s economy. Previous research from more than a decade ago found that number to be less than 400-million dollars. The new study also found about 900-thousand Iowans enjoy and take part in cycling, and the industry supports about 21-thousand jobs in the state.
