(Corning, IA) — Jadyn Cooper of Winterset won the 285 finals, ending Evan Sorensen’s undefeated run. However, Atlantic won the team title at the 70th annual John J. Harris Wrestling Tournament, which was hosted by Southwest Valley.
Cooper against Sorenson was the highlight match and last match of the tournament. Still, the Senior from Atlantic gave up an early takedown, and Cooper got him out of position early in the 2nd period with a takedown and pin at 3:16 to give Sorenson his first loss of the season. However, Atlantic finished with four champions. Keaton Schroeder won at 106, winning by fall at 4:18 in the finals; Collin Harris was the 5 seed at 113 but upset the top seed Kingston Carrigan of Riverside in the semis 15-2, then beat Ben James of Creston 9-0 in the finals, Aiden Smith dominated at 138 winning 5-1 in the finals against a familiar foe in Kyler Sandholm of Red Oak, Kalvin Hayes was a 3 seed but beat #2 Cord Hamilton at 1:59 in the semifinals then edged #1 seed Tully Wood of Wayne 6-4 in the finals.
Also for Atlantic, Braxton Hass was 3rd at 120, winning 3-0 in the third place match, Dreven Smith was 4th at 157, Donovan Hedrington was 4th at 190, Landon Hagen was 5th at 126, Jayden Harder was 6th at 150

Riverside: The Bulldogs finished a respectable third in the team standings, and AC Roller walked away with the title at 175. Davis Bramman lost in the title match 9-4 to Dallas Canoyer of Earlham. Aaron Boone of Washington beat Drew Anderson in the 132-pound final 12-0. Taven Moore was upset in the finals at 157 by Chase England of Lenox 17-1. Jett Rose was third at 165, Kingston Carrigan was 4th at 113, and Jaxon Gordon was 4th at 150

Tri Center: Brent Freeberg had the best finish for the Trojans, 5th at 138 pounds which was a disappointment since he was seeded 2nd. Freeberg won his final match 10-6. It was rough day for Tucker Olson at 106 pounds who was seeded 2nd and finished in 6th place. Olson went 0-3 on Saturday.
AC/GC: Carter Richter had the best finish for the Chargers going 5th at 190 pounds. Chase Slaybaugh was 6th at 120
CAM: Kason Calhoun finished 6th place at 132.
Griswold: RJ Dishong was 4th at 285
Other champions included Brock Shaha of Denison Schleswig at 120, Dylan Stein of Lenox at 150, Jacob McGargill remained unbeaten at 165 pounds, Jayden Dickerson of Shenandoah also is still unbeaten winning at 190
