(Red Oak) Morgan Lewellen, the Montgomery County Safety Coordinator, appeared before the Board of Supervisors to discuss changing the workers’ compensation physician provider. Lewellen explained that the current provider is located in Omaha, and she requested that they change to a local provider at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.
She emphasized that they are specifically interested in the internal medicine department at MCMH. Although there is a price difference, Lewellen described it as a “wash” when factoring in time and travel expenses. She also mentioned that switching to a local provider would improve communication.
The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the provider change.
