(Washington, DC) — The latest jobless numbers shows a mixed bag.
The Labor Department’s report shows new jobless claims went down by a thousand last week to 219-thousand. But the report also showed the highest number of people collecting unemployment benefits since November 2021, at nearly two-million.
That was an increase of 46-thousand from the last reading, which suggests people out of work are having a harder time finding a new job.
