(Atlantic) The 2024 Scrooge candidates led the long line of floats at the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighted Parade on Saturday night. This year’s candidates are Randy and Michelle Roy (Randy’s Computer), Graydon Schmidt (Schmidt Family Funeral Homes), Jeremiah Thompson (Landus/Atlantic Fire Department), and Ben Winford (New Life Church) and all proceeds benefit the Atlantic Food Pantry. Together, they raised a total of $28,500 and 1,666 food items. The winner of this year’s Scrooge Contest, Graydon Schmidt served as the Grand Marshal. The Fireworks kicked off the parade at 6:00 p.m. This event was started by the late Eleanor Hoover, and her daughters—Billie, Jackie, and Lori, along with Karen Miller.
