Iowa’s Deer Gun Seasons Right Around the Corner

(Lewis) The first shotgun deer season is fast approaching. The first season is from Saturday, December 7, through Wednesday, December 11.

John Lorenzen from the DNR Office in Lewis states that the second season will run from December 14 to December 22.

Approximately 100,000 hunters are expected to take to the fields in Iowa during these seasons. Last year, about 60,000 deer were harvested during both hunting seasons combined.
