(Area) The Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association announced its award winners on Friday afternoon. Among the recipients is Amber Jipsen, who has been recognized as the 2025 Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association Administrative Assistant of the Year.
Amber, the Atlantic High School Administrative Assistant for the Assistant Principal and Activities Department, was nominated for this award by Atlantic Activities Director Andy Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell explains that this honor is given annually to one administrative assistant across the state who has significantly impacted their activities department. In Amber’s case, he notes that her influence extends far beyond the Atlantic Activities Department.
Amber expressed her gratitude and surprise upon receiving this recognition. Next month will mark her 24th year with the Atlantic Community School System, and she has spent about half of that time in the activities department.
She mentioned that she has enjoyed working with many outstanding Activities Directors.
According to Andy Mitchell, Amber’s most important quality is her genuine student care. A ceremony to honor Amber Jipsen will be scheduled and announced later.
