(Guthrie Center, IA) — The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a 28E Agreement for the First Responders Association, something that has been in the works since this past summer.
Jotham Arbor, the Public Health Services Director of Guthrie County, has been working on building first responders in each of the fire districts and work with the current services. The cost is minimal he says
Arbor says he has other donations for equipment and just needed a green light from the supervisors to begin his work to improve the number of first responders in Guthrie County as he says to save lives
Arbor says that 27 people have already reached out to him for training to become first responders and once training concludes, they will start service in the western part of Guthrie County and will work in conjunction with each local fire department
The cost of the service is about 50 dollars per first responder per year. The Supervisors unanimously approved the project.
