(Iowa City) University of Iowa junior running back Kaleb Johnson has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in the Hawkeyes’ 42-10 victory over Wisconsin on Saturday night.
The conference office announced the news on Monday. This weekly honor is Johnson’s second of the season and the third of his career. He previously received the co-offensive Player of the Week award on September 23, 2024, and was recognized as both the offensive and freshman player of the week on November 7, 2020.
Johnson achieved his seventh 100-yard game of the season in 2024, finishing with 135 rushing yards on 24 carries and scoring three touchdowns from distances of 16, 9, and 2 yards against the Badgers. This marks the seventh 100-yard game of his career and his 11th overall. Johnson has recorded three games with three rushing touchdowns and has achieved a total of four games with three touchdowns overall. The 32-point victory represents Iowa’s largest margin of victory over Wisconsin in 56 years, dating back to 1968.
