(Underwood) Often, it is not how you start but how you finish, and that is the case for the Underwood football team. The Eagles started out the season losing the out of four games and ended the season winning three out of the four. Underwood Head Coach Nate Mechaelsen says the record is where they wanted to be, but as far as playing their best at the right time of the year is concerned.
The Eagles face a predominately rushing-minded Ridge View squad with 1,579 rushing during the regular season. Coach Mechaelsen says Ridge View is big, physical, run-heavy, and defensively defends the run quite well.
Ridge View has only thrown the ball 82 times for 366 yards and four touchdowns. Coach Michaelsen says the game will come down to limiting mistakes, penalties, turnovers, and special teams.
Ridge View is 6-2 on the season and runner-up in Class 1A District #1. The Eagles are 4-4 on the season and finished third place in Class 1A District #8.
The game features two teams with stark differences in offense. As mentioned, Ridge View would prefer to run the ball. On the other hand, the Eagles rely on their passing game. Underwood has 1,581 yards through the air, and Easton Robertson, the main target, has 43 catches for 631 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. at Ridge View.
