(Atlantic) Driver’s escaped serious injury in a two-vehicle accident north of Atlantic on Monday.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 8:51 a.m. near 54051 Olive Street. The driver, identified as Chad Begley and Brian Fager, received medical attention at the scene.
According to the report, Begley, driving a northbound 2018 Nissan Armada, slowed down and then stopped, waiting for oncoming traffic to pass before entering a driveway. Fager, driving a northbound 2007 GMC Acadia, looked down for a moment, but when he looked up, it was too late. He did not get stopped in time and collided with the rear of Begley’s vehicle.
Begley vehicle came to rest in the ditch facing south, and Fager’s vehicle came to rest on the roadway, blocking traffic.
Authorities stated no serious or life-threatening injuries resulted from the accident.
