(Butler County, IA) — The Iowa D-O-T is receiving over 68 million dollars in federal funds. The funds come from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Mega Grant Program. They will go towards several improvement projects, including two new flyover bridges from southbound I-35/80 to eastbound I-235 and westbound I-80. Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley is announcing the grant, saying it will enable the Iowa D-O-T to reduce congestion and increase navigability at the West Mixmaster interchange. This interchange had nearly one thousand crashes reported between 2018 and 2022.
