(Council Bluffs) This week, Pottawattamie County will host an event to increase disaster preparedness awareness. The Emergency Management Agency is hosting the 4th annual Preparedness Fair from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on September 26 at the Pottawattamie County Emergency Operations Center.
Gabe Barney, the Deputy Director of the Pottawattamie County Emergency Management Agency, says this is the fourth Annual Preparedness Fair.
Barney says that being prepared is half the battle.
Barney says to bring your insurance card and get a flu shot. Signup for the public alert Iowa system is available. The fire department and other public service agencies will be on hand. There will also be free food, and the National Weather Service Tornado Simulation machine will be at the fair.
