Irene Anne (Lauridsen) Moller, age 96, of Audubon, IA, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at her residence in Audubon, IA.
Irene was born in Exira, IA, the daughter of Harold and Christina Lauridsen. She attended a one-room country school in Audubon County. On March 8, 1945, she married Albert Moller in Audubon. To this union, four children were born: Roger, Randall, Rhonda, and Brian.
Throughout her life, she had a few jobs, one working at Delong’s Clothing in Exira, and she worked at a hog confinement in Viola Center, where she helped nurture baby pigs. Her most enjoyment in life was taking care of her family and being a valuable wife and mother. Before Albert passed, they enjoyed going out with friends on Saturday Nights. She was a fond baker; in her family, she was famous for her cinnamon rolls. Irene enjoyed sewing and always made sure she stayed busy cleaning the house. Often you would find Irene at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, where she was a long-time member, helping fold bulletins or in the kitchen with funeral lunches.
Irene is survived by her children: Roger (Marilyn) Moller of Lakeville, MN, Randall Moller of Audubon, Rhonda (Robert) Schwarte of Atlantic, IA; her four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Those preceded in her death are her husband, Albert; son, Brian; great-grandchild, Daniel Schwarte; siblings, Mildred Schwab, Emmert Lauridsen, and Marvin Lauridsen.
Memorials may be directed to the Irene Moller Family, and they will be designated at a later date in memory of Irene. They may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 201, Audubon, IA 50025.
The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, IA, with Pastor Chris Townsend officiating. Following the service, interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following the committal in the fellowship hall of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, September 16, 2024, one hour before the service.
