(Neola, IA) Tri-Center had one of the toughest schedules to start the high school football season. After an opening week loss 26-21 to 9th ranked AHSTW, the Trojans this past Friday made some noise by upsetting #4 ranked Treynor 27-21. Tri Center scored twice in the opening quarter to take a 14-7 lead — it would be tied 14 all at the half but the Trojans defense only allowed one score early in the third period and Head Coach Ryan Schroder’s team had achieved one its pre-season goals
Sophomore AJ Harder threw for 295 yards and 1 TD and 1 INT. Cael Witt was his primary target with 9 receptions for 126 yards and a score. Carter Kunze put up big numbers on the ground with a massive 43 carries for 161 yards and 3 TD. Schroder says his club relishes in the roll of the underdog
Tri Center improves to 1-1 on the season and will open up district play at home against West Monona this Friday.
