(Griswold, IA) — For the first time since 2014, Griswold Volleyball went over 20 wins in a single season.
The Tigers finished 21-11 with a young team so expectations will high this season especially with the majority of their starters returning, five in all, Head Coach Jody Rossell
The two starters gone were key spots — Carolina Arcia was the setter with 770 assists and Whitney Pennock was the Libero with 516 digs which ranked 14th in the entire state. Senior Joey Reynolds will move into the setter spot but the Libero position is a work in progress according to Rossell
The Corner Conference will be tough again this year — four of the seven teams had 20 wins or more last year with Griswold finishing in 4th place behind Stanton, Sidney and East Mills. It won’t be any different this year
Griswold opens their volleyball season on Thursday, August 29 with a triangular at Exira EHK with Nodaway Valley
