(Atlantic) Fall sports practices got underway on Monday morning across the state of Iowa. Atlantic is one week into practice due to the scheduling of a Week One zero game at home against Council Bluffs, Jefferson, on August 23.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says each football team is allowed four hours of practice or contact time with the team.
The Trojans practiced in helmets to start the week, uppers toward the end, and will be in full pads for their workouts this week.
The Trojans have a veteran group returning from last season. This includes four starters on the offensive line. Quarterback Zayden Parker returns, along with starting Fullback Gavin McLaren, who carried the ball 75 times for 490 yards, for an average of 6.5 yards per carry. The Trojans return Tyson O’Brien, who saw some action at Tailback one year ago.
The Trojans have 20 seniors and 20 juniors, 13 sophomores, and around 25 freshmen. They wrap up the week with media day this Friday evening and practice afterward.
