(Atlantic) Carter Witzman, who spent much of last season nursing injuries, is battling for a starting spot on the defensive line. Witzman checked into preseason practice at 6’5, 200 pounds.

The Trojans started practice on Monday in preparation for their early season opener on August 23. Witzman has been working on his footwork and learning proper hand techniques to shed blocks effectively.
The Trojans return 19 players with playing time on defense from last season. The Trojans open up the non-district schedule at home against Council Bluffs, Jefferson on August 23, host Clarke on August 30, travel to Glenwood on September 6, host Greene County on September 13, and wrap up the non-district run at Winterset on September 13.
