(Audubon, IA) — For the first time in school history, the Audubon Wheelers will take the field at the Iowa High School state softball tournament as they battle the West Monona Spartans with a 3:00 pm first pitch Tuesday, coverage on 96.5 FM KSOM.
The Wheelers will rely on strong pitching and timely hitting to make their run in Ft. Dodge. Senior Maddie Nielsen is hitting .365, 3, 17 and believes Audubon is ready for the challenge to play tough competition at state and believes they need to take it one step at a time

West Monona will present a tough challenge in the first round — the Spartans have three tough power hitters at the top of their line-up: Senior Kacy Miller (.527, 7 HR, 41 RBI), Freshman Neveah Healy (.255, 5, 31) and Senior Abby Hiatt (.344, 6, 50).
