(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors is expected to act on increased setbacks next week for the future construction of the Wind Farm in southern Audubon County. Last fall, the supervisors received requests to address the setbacks, particularly from non-participants.
Audubon County Board of Supervisor Chairman Heath Hanson says the ordinance calls for setbacks for non-participating residents to be 1,750 feet from a residence. For those participating in the turbine project, it is 1,250 feet.
Apex Energy is building between 60 and 100 turbines from Brayton to Elk Horn. The Audubon County Board of Supervisors is expected to sign the new setback ordinance at its meeting on Tuesday, May 21.
