(Griswold, IA) The Griswold girls’ track team is preparing to head to Tabor for their state-qualifier meet at Fremont-Mills High School. Heading into the meet, head coach Rachel Larsen is already satisfied with what the team has accomplished so far this season.
The Tigers are hoping to build off of their recent performance at the Corner Conference Track Meet where they placed 2nd scoring 112 points, as well as, the Southwest Valley Co-Ed meet where freshman Carsyn Adams set multiple PRs.
The eight freshmen have been a big addition to the Tigers, as they are on the brink of one of their more successful seasons over the years winning in total two track meets on the season. However, previous results don’t matter to qualify for state track and Coach Larsen is trying to emphasize that times are the most important thing to them right now.
The Tigers are familiar with their competition as they have faced all but three teams in the Fremont-Mills district so far this season. Coach Larsen is hoping to use the familiarity to fuel faster times.
The Fremont-Mills state-qualifier meet will start at 4:00 p.m.
