(Guthrie Center, IA) – At the Charger Relays on Monday evening, the Madrid boys were able to take the team victory with a total of 115.5 team points after a dominant performance on the track. Coming up behind was Earlham with 91.5 while ACGC was able to earn third with 88 team points. Other local teams in the meet featured Audubon in sixth with 56 points, CAM finished in eighth with 40 team points, and Exira-EHK came in tenth with 29 points.
Looking at the top finishes for ACGC, Eli Madsen finished in first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.39 while Lance Bunde finished right behind him in second at 52.05. Treyton Schneider earned second in the 200-meter dash for the Chargers with a time of 24.67. ACGC’s boys also were able to capture a first-place finish in the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 8:34.61, under one second faster than Woodward Granger in second place at 8:35.20. Lance Bunde also put his name into a top three finish once again with a first-place finish in the high jump at 6’1″.
Down the line, Audubon finished in sixth overall and featured Aaron Olsen in first place in the 100-meter dash at 11.54. The relay teams in the 800-meter sprint medley also finished in first with a time of 1:37.11 and the Wheelers also earned another first-place finish in the distance medley with a time of 3:47.24.
The CAM boys were able to earn a first-place finish with Jack Follmann in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.14 and he also earned another first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 56.17. Coming just a couple of places behind for CAM was Carson McKee in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.43. Last but certainly not least in the top-three finishes for CAM was Kayden Winther with an impressive third-place finish in the long jump at 19’5″.
Exira-EHK rounds out our local coverage with a 10th-place finish as they featured Cash Emgarten in second in the 100-meter dash at 11.56 and Jonas LaCanne finished second in the 400-meter hurdles at 59.38. You can find all the results of the meet below.
