(Griswold, IA) — If the rains stay away, Griswold will open their golfing season tonight. The Tigers will not be able to field a team on the girls side with just three players out for the team but the boys are in good shape. Hogan Hook will be the number one player who had an average of 46.9 last year as a Junior. Head Coach Jason Reynolds says he acts like another coach for the team
Reynolds says the 2, 3, and 4 scoring spots could fluctuate during the season — Caiden Turner can shoot under 50 so he’ll start at #2. Brayden Lockwood dual sports with track but he shoots in the upper 40’s and the other Senior on the team is Alex Nelson. Colten Taylor and Callen Keiser will fight for spots as well.
On the girls side, Griswold will be led by Joanna Reynolds who was a state qualifier a year ago and is back to try it again. Reynolds says she is a hard worker and her strength is on the greens
Junior Kate Tischer and Sophomore Abigail Henderson are newer to the sport so Reynolds hopes they can improve throughout the season. Today they host Underwood in their opener and Reynolds says there are three things he will be focusing on
They tee it off at 4 pm today at Griswold Country Club
