(Atlantic) On Wednesday, the Atlantic City Council approved salaries for appointed officers and employees for the fiscal year ending July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
Atlantic City Administrator John Lund says the wages and salaries in this resolution have been incorporated into the FY 2025 budget.
Lund says this is the second consecutive year the Personnel & Finance Committee and the City Council have chosen equal four percent across-the-board salary increases for all full-time, permanent part-time, and 14 seasonal employees. The only exception is for the Fire Chief, who was moved from $9,000.00 to $10,000.00 annually, keeping in line with the two-year plan to take the position from $8,000.00 to $10,000.00.
The City Clerk’s compensation will be set pending the new hire. When the appointment is made, a separate resolution for the City Clerk will be made. The Personnel and Finance Committee recommends a salary, with the approval of the City Administrator.
The City Council also approved wages for seasonal/part-time Parks and Recreation Airport Employees for the 2024 season. Lund says the city has increased the wages of our seasonal Parks and Pool employees by a quarter or so each year. However, with rampant inflation and fierce competition amongst employers for workers, these employees have had wage adjustments to align with the City’s regular employees. Lund says these wages are incorporated into the FY 2025 budget. For seasonal employees, an increase of four percent has been programmed.
