(Fremont Co) A Missouri woman has been charged following a fatal accident in Fremont County.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says 77-year-old Nancy Bartles, of Rock Port, was charged with Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian Resulting in a Person’s Death. Neither speed, alcohol, drugs, nor distracted driving were factors in this case.
The accident happened at approximately 6:06 p.m on January 25th at the intersection of Main Street and E Street in Hamburg. 77-year-old Willie Donn Thorp, of Hamburg, was carrying items to his vehicle from a local community center and was struck by a passing 2001 Ford F150, driven by Nancy Bartles. Thorp was declared deceased at a nearby hospital.
