(Des Moines) The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for southwest and much of Iowa from 9:00 a.m. Monday to 6:00 p.m.
The forecast is for record-breaking warmth on Monday combined with winds out of the southwest gusting over 35 mph at times and relative humidity dropping under 25 percent. This will result in extreme fire weather conditions across much of Iowa.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
