(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council approved a resolution authorizing bid letting and setting the date for the public hearing on the Splashpad project.
Dave Sturm, with Snyder and Associates, said they have reached the point where they are ready to go out to bid.
Sturm said it would be best to wait to start the project until after the Splashpad Committee receives word on the CAT grant.
If by chance the project comes in over budget, they can always remove a feature, or two, to get within budget and then put them in at a later date if more donations come in.
The project is estimated at around $600,000. It was noted that there has been some in-kind giving for this project.
A public hearing will be held March 20th.
In other action, the City Council approved awarding a lease for city-owned farmland to Zelmer Farms for $151 per acre for the period February 1, 2024 through December 31, 2027. The farm ground surrounds the wastewater treatment plant and part of the Schildberg Recreation Area. The Council approved adopting the new personnel handbook for city employees, and a resolution amending the Code for Purchases and Payables Policy.
