(Des Moines) The price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 12 cents last week, averaging $2.87 across Iowa according to AAA, and down 46 cents from one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.14, up 4 cents from last week’s price.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.21 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $75.64. Brent crude oil rose $1.31 and is currently priced at $81.68. WTI crude sold for $78.87 one year ago, and Brent crude was $83.42.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 2 cents this week, with a statewide average of $3.57. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.30 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 37 cents lower than the national average of $3.94.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
Propane prices averaged $1.58 per gallon statewide. Home heating oil prices averaged $2.97 per gallon statewide. Natural gas prices fell 53 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.12/MMbtu.
