(Atlantic) The Atlantic Wrestling team finished the dual season on Thursday with a Hawkeye Ten Conference record of 6-4 and 10-9 overall. Next up is the Hawkeye Ten Conference Wrestling Tournament on Saturday.
Atlantic Coach Tim Duff touts Creston as the favorite to win the team title, and Glenwood will also be a contender.
Coach Duff looks to Lewis Central and Shenandoah to finish in the top three or four.
Coach Duff says they are taking ten wrestlers to the tournament to finish all ten in the top six.
The tournament features seven returning champions: Braxton Hass and Aiden Smith of Atlantic. Vinny Mayberry is competing for a fourth conference championship, and Matt Beem is a returning champion for Glenwood. Lincoln Keeler and Austin Evans from Creston, Owen Laughlin of Shenandoah, and Karson Downey of Clarinda are back to defend their titles on Saturday.
Creston won the team title one year ago.
