(Red Oak) A Pottawattamie County Man faces eluding and other charges in Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at 1st and Cherry Street in Red Oak early this morning. The car driven by 40-year-old Kyle Anthony Ziegler of Council Bluffs, attempting to elude deputies, took through Red Oak at a high rate of speed without its lights on. While turning into an alley at 4th and Grimes, Ziegler slid in the snow, struck a house, and came to a stop near the house.
The driver exited the vehicle and refused to listen to the deputy’s commands. A struggle began, and the driver was eventually taken into custody. Kyle Anthony Zeigler, 40, of Council Bluffs, was arrested for driving while barred, felony eluding, 2nd offense, and interference with official acts.
Deputies transported Ziegler to the Montgomery County Jail and held him on a $10,000 bond. Additional charges are pending.
The Red Oak Police Department, Montgomery County Communications Center, Red Oak Fire and Rescue, and EMS assisted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
