(Atlantic) Atlantic rolled to a 63-13 win over Red Oak on Tuesday afternoon at Atlantic.
Paytn Harter led the Trojans with 23 points, Peyton McLaren, Claire Pellett, and Maddie Richter added six each, Lila Wiederstein, 4, and Makenna Schroeder 3.
Atlantic built a 20-0 first-quarter lead. Harter sparked the run with 15 points, and Makenna Schroeder splashed in a three-point shot from behind the arc.
The Atlantic School Administrators made it a special day by busing the elementary and middle school students to the gym. Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason said that once the Trojans got used to the high energy in the gym, they settled in and played well.
The pressure defense, solid rebounding, and inside play vaulted the home team to a 44-7 halftime lead.
Coach Vargason went to his bench in the second half. Zoey Kirchhoff, Katrina Williams, Avery Knuth, Rylie Harlan, Addie Freund, and Brynn Lamp scored two points for the Trojans. Jillian Saathoff chipped in one.
