(Sidney) A Council Bluffs man is in custody after attempting to burglarize a home in Riverton.
According to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, 40-year-old Daniel Troy Smith faces charges for, Attempted 3rd Degree Burglary, Drug Tax Stamp Violation, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of marijuana with the Intent to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Deputies were called to a residence in Riverton on Sunday for a report of a masked male attempting to burglarize a residence. Deputies identified the suspect as Daniel Smith and placed him under arrest. Subsequently, K9 Storm was deployed on a narcotics sniff and indicated the presence of narcotics on a vehicle, which led deputies to approximately thirteen grams of suspected methamphetamine and about half a pound of suspected marijuana.
Authorities transported Smith to the Fremont County Jail and held him on a $13,300 cash/surety bond.
The Sheriff’s Office reports two additional arrests on December 30 in separate cases.

*Deputies arrested 20-year-old D’Andre Davell Kyle, age 29, of Sidney, Iowa, for OWI 2nd Offense. He was released after posting a $2,000 cash/surety bond.

*Deputies arrested 30-year-old Andrew William Wagner of Hamburg, Iowa, for Driving while Revoked. He was released after posting a $1,000 cash/surety bond.
