(Atlantic) Atlantic resident, high school, and Iowa State University graduate Jared Fulk is one of thirty-three Iowa National Guard Detachment Company C members deployed to Kosovo. Their mission is to provide medical care, refueling, and maintenance support for the United States Coalition Forces in Kosovo.
Army Aviator Jared Fulk, Chief Warrant Officer, pilots the Black Hawk Helicopter. During this mission, Fulk will pilot one of the helicopters used for medivac. Jared’s family, including his father, Scott Fulk, attended the send-off ceremony at the Waterloo Airport on Friday morning.
Scott tells KSOM/KS95 News they got through the day, so now they can start counting the days for when he returns. Fulk says they have received a lot of support from the community.
Chief Warrant Officer Fulk, 29, graduated from Atlantic High School in 2013, graduated from Iowa State University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, joined the National Guard on his 21st Birthday, and attended Officer’s Training where he earned his license and an Army Aviator. He has been employed at Mahle Manufacturing as a Quality Engineer.
Jared is the son of Scott and Chris Fulk of Atlantic. His wife, Liz, who resides in Atlantic, is the daughter of Doug and Teresa Guttenfelder of Atlantic.
The mission in Kosovo is expected to last approximately nine months.
