(Des Moines, IA) — Even with all the rain that fell across Iowa over the long Christmas weekend, this week’s drought conditions haven’t changed much.
This week’s U-S Drought Monitor Map still shows extreme drought from Northeast, through Southeast, and across into West-Central Iowa.
There are some drought-free areas in Northwest and far Eastern Iowa.
The new map shows 97 percent of Iowa under drought or near-drought conditions.
