(Des Moines, IA) — It isn’t usual Christmas weather to see high temps and rain instead of snow in Iowa, but it does help with its drought situation.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the state is having its longest drought since the 1950s. Meteorologist Trey Fulbright says the rain was badly needed.
However, the rest of the week looks dry. There is a chance for scattered snow showers through this evening with new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible, but the rest of the week is dry with temperatures in the low to mid-thirties.
