(Atlantic) Republican Presidential Candidate Nikki Haley made a campaign stop at the Erich and Tammy Wickman farm northeast of Atlantic this (Tuesday) morning.
Nikki Haley is an American politician and diplomat who served as Governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017 and the 29th United States Ambassador to the United Nations from January 2017 through December 2018.
Haley said she didn’t need to talk about how bad things are. She said everyone is feeling it when they go to the grocery story, paying their mortgage payment or insurance payment; it has all gone up.
Haley said “it’s time to get to work” and to fix it, she would start with the economy.
Haley said she would stop the spending, eliminate the earmarks, stop the borrowing and she would veto any spending bill that doesn’t take us back to pre-COVID levels.
She said the second thing she will do is take as many federal programs and she can and pass them down to the states.
She also noted that we need to open up the middle class.
Haley discussed the issues at the border.
Haley spoke about veterans and the need to take care of them for the rest of their lives. She said they should be able to go to the doctor or hospital of their choice.
As far as education, Haley said every parent should be able to decide which school their child goes to, we need to get kids reading again and we need to bring back vocational classes in the High School.
