(Des Moines) The Iowa GOP is alerting people that only legal residents of Iowa can participate in the Iowa caucuses.
It is coming after Florida’s first lady, Casey DeSantis, said she is encouraging moms and grandmas from all over the country to travel to Iowa to be involved in the caucus. The Iowa GOP responded in an X post, reminding Iowans they must be a legal state resident and bring a photo ID to vote. However, people outside of the state can still volunteer for a campaign at the caucus.
The 2024 Iowa Caucus is on January 15 at 7:00 p.m. at individual precinct locations in all 99 counties in Iowa. You must be a legal resident of Iowa and a registered Republican voter in Iowa.
