(Atlantic) The Splash Park Project received a financial boost from the Atlantic City Council on Wednesday. The Council approved Snyder and Associates to proceed with the designing and bidding process for the project. Additionally, the City Council agreed to transfer the $45,000 surplus from the Atlantic Parks Inclusive Playground fund to the Splash Park project.
Jeremy Butler, Splash Park Fundraising Chairman, spoke highly of the community, his fundraising committee, and the City Council for what they have contributed to this project.
Fundraising reached $352,903.85, and the money transferred from the Parks Inclusive Playground fund brings the total amount raised to just shy of $400,000.
The current proposal is a pad, including the overflow zone, of 5,000 square feet. The surface with the features is slightly over 4,000 square feet; the proposed project will have 25 and 30 features.
