(Des Moines) Much above-normal temperatures are forecasted mid-week for southwest Iowa. Dylan Dodson, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Des Moines, says the pattern is shifting to what is called ridging.
Dodson says troughing is forecasted for late in the week, which will slightly cool things off.
Temperatures are forecasted to reach close to 60 degrees by midweek, with a chance for snow later in the week, with the long-term forecast trending to above-normal temperatures.
The forecast high for today is 42 degrees, Tuesday’s high is 42, Wednesday’s is 51, Thursday’s 59, and Friday’s is 53. Cooler weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday with highs in the low 40s and a chance for snow on Saturday.
